Is there anything I can do to stop Spotify from playing the wrong song?

Is there anything I can do to stop Spotify from playing the wrong song?

There is a song in my playlists that is consistently replaced with the cover by a different artist, rather than the original song, when I play it on Spotify. I have tried restarting my app and my phone and neither have worked. I don't remember this happening with any other song, but the original song is You Know by Freddie Dredd and every time it plays in any of my playlists it gets replaced with a cover by Eibell. Even when i search up the song and manually click on it, the cover still plays. If it’s relevant: I have a premium subscription and I am listening on an iPhone.

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, if the behavior mentioned is present in the playlists Made For You (Daily Mixes, Release Radar, Discovery Weekly), you can improve the suggestions by liking or disliking songs. To do it, in the Now Playing View, you can find a + or -. Select - to hide the song in the playlist. The app will also not recommend the same song to you in the future.

Since you mention this also happens when searching for the song within the app, we'd suggest blocking the artist. To do it, go to the artist's profile in the mobile device app and then select the three-dot menu. In the three-dot menu, you'll see the option "Do not play this". Select it, and you won't receive this artist's content in the future. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, we'd like to double check, even if you select the song from the original artist, it still plays the cover one? Would you mind sending us a video recording of that behavior? You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can watch it.

Keep us in the loop!
