Issues with Vizio TV App and Spotify Sync

My Vizio Smart TV has Spotify included as one of its applications. I'm a premium Spotify subcriber, however the Vizio app, and Spotify on my iphone/Mac desktop doesn't seem to be communicating. 

ie. I add a song/playlist to my iphone/Mac desktop, but it doesn't show up on Vizio's Spotify app and vice versa. 

I've reinstalled Spotify and logged into all devices, to no avail. 

Anyone else have issues with device syncing? Thanks!

A bunch of people have been having a peripherally related issue with connecting Spotify to the Vizio Soundbar (including me) for two months now. It's not clear whether the problem is with Vizio or Spotify, but what IS clear is that neither of these companies is doing anything to fix it.
