[LG TV] - Spotify Connect on my phone doesn't see my TV playing

My phone sees my computer fine, just not the TV..

I don't think it is an issue I think Spotfiy Connect doesn't support your SmartTV. Which one do you have? I have an LG 42LN5758 and well i wanted to do the same but it doesn't work with my TV either but it would be nice. I hope they will work on it to make this feature available to us.

Having your device capable of playing Spotify does not mean it supports also Spotify Connect.
The TV must be explicitly supporting it.

Well it would be nice to know if they are planning to implement this feature and it would be nice to know if we have to ask Spotify to implement this or if we have to ask LG for this feature.

If you read the FAQ on Connect (https://support.spotify.com/se/learn-more/guides/#!/article/spotify-connect) it says: "With Connect, you can play Spotify on your speakers, TV,...". Clicking on the TV-link in that sentence takes you to a list of brands with LG clearly on it.

At least I get the impression from that text that the Spotify client in the LG Smart TV supports Connect, but it is not working on my 55LB870V from 2014.

same problem here with my LG SmartTV 32LA667S-ZB

(soft version : 04.27.08)

I understand the LG App is not yet set to handle S. Connect

Still it would be nice to know whether such upgrade is on Spotify's roadmap!!

Hi, i don't have any info about it, but we've passed the feedback to the team.

they are always doing their best to provide the best user experience possible.

In the meantime, I'd suggest to contact LG and say that you want to be able to use Spotify Connect feature in their devices.

Unfortunately I also recognized this problem on LG 32LN575S.

Have the same issue with  LG 43UF7787.

All of my devices (TV, iPhone and MacBook ) connected to same Wi-Fi. I can see Desktop and Phone on Spotify Connect, but there is no connected TV.

When I playing song from the TV and try to play a song on Phone or Computer, it gives an error like " Another session has started elsewhere " on TV.

The problem is in the app because it's very outdated. LG doesn't have to support Spotify connect, the app has, and Spotify develops the app . In the case of Netflix and YouTube it took only an app update to enable support for it (cast features) and now I can select videos from the smartphone and play /control them the same way. So I hope Spotify team to enable this feature in WebOs too.

I just received an anwser from the official Spotify team.

Unfortunately the Spotify Connect feature is NOT supported for LG TV's at the moment. Maybe You should post this request in the idea's page of the forums?
