Make keyboard focus on »add to playlist« sub-dropdown when »search for playlist« is active/focused.

Make keyboard focus on »add to playlist« sub-dropdown when »search for playlist« is active/focused.

When I context-click a song to add it to a playlist, and search for the playlist using the search-bar in the »add to playlist« dropdown menu, I'd expect to be able to use the ⬇️ & ⬆️ keys on my keyboard to select the playlist from the search results below. Since I'm already using the keyboard to search for a playlist, it would be nice if I could easily finish the action without switching back to the mouse.

Issue: When I try to do this, the second item in the 1. level of the context menu »Go to song radio« gets focus and the »Add to playlist« sub-menu closes. If I want to add the song to one of the search results, I then need to navigate down to »Add to playlist« again, open it and navigate to the playlist I want to add the song to.

Solution: I'd expect the keyboard navigation to follow the »flow« of the sub-menu, e.g. when the submenu »Add to playlist« is open and the searchbar at the top is opened, the ⬇️ & ⬆️ keys will the select the searchresult playlists and the [Enter] key would add the song to the focused playlist. An extra nice to have would be if the context-menu didn't close after adding, but refocused the search bar; since I often add a song to several playlists (I'm an avid listening user (top 96% of people having listened to music in my last wrapped). And could then be closed with the [Esc] key when I'm done.

Thank you for an otherwise awesome service! Love it and hope you bring integrations for DJ-programs back some day. Miss being able to use your service with DJay Pro. 🌞

Hi @ssssaaaa,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I tried that on Windows 10 and I didn't run into any issues with the context menu while using the arrow keys. Could you share a short screen recording which captures the app's behavior in action so we can get a clear idea of what's happening on your end? The following info would also be greatly appreciated:

Cheers!

Hi Yordan
I'm on MacOS (I can't edit the tags, maybe you can?)

Hey @ssssaaaa,

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

We've gone ahead and edited the tags. Unfortunately, we couldn't visualize the video you kindly sent us. Would you mind sending us the video recording  again? You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

Don't forget to include the Spotify version you're currently running 🙂 You can check it by following the steps in this article

Keep us in the loop!
