New Web Player SUCKS!!! (Where's the radio)

New Web Player SUCKS!!! (Where's the radio)

Please bring back the old web player.... The GIANT search option??? Maybe I don't want everyone at my work to know what I'm listening to on my headphones.  Also where did the radio based on artists go?  That was the best option on Spotify as far as I was concerned.  Seriously conidering canceling my service.  😞

Yeah really hate the new web player! You can't create folders now on web player and some things have disappeared too... 😕

Totally agree!

I've used Spotify for so long now because I love the radio feature and the mixes. It's the whole reason I switched from Pandora. Now I can't do any of that on the webplayer, so I pretty much can't use Spotify's webplayer unless I just want to listen to one album or a previously made playlist. SO. LAME. Why do these companies always have to break what wasn't broken?!

It seems that it doesn't have last fm scrobbling...

Oh spotify. what are you doing?

They're making the web player a lightweight alternative to the desktop app. The Web player isn't intended to replace the desktop app, so it has the most basic functionality required for listening to music. If you want the full feature set of Spotify, download the desktop app.

Oh good.  I'll just explain to the IT department at my work "I know I am not supposed to be streaming music but can you put in the password to download this app so I can stream music better, hey thanks"

Or, you could just listen to your employer and not stream music if it's not allowed to be done at your workplace. You risk getting fired that way.

Some people take a 15 minute smoke break everyhour.  Some people spend all day on Social media.  Some people spend all day gossiping with others.  I spend all day working and listening to music.  Spotify should worry that I and others can't do that now and will likely cancel my service.

If that's indeed the official stance and the lost features are not coming back, I see that my premium-cancellation was entirely justified. Having a feature-disparity on different platforms seemed like a bone-headed move to me at first, but apparently it's intended for whatever reason. Unfortunately, this makes your service pretty much useless for my listening habits, I wish you good luck in your future endeavours.

Lol I'm not a Spotify employee, and it's not the official stance of Spotify. It's my own, personal stance. I don't think streaming music at your workplace is okay if it's not advised to do so by said workplace. And, Spotify's web player has always had feature disparity between the desktop app and the mobile apps.

But anyways, hope you felt good about yourself by cancelling your subscription. xD

It's certainly an inconvenience, but not much more. There are other services which try for a more comprehensive approach when it comes to their user-experience on different platforms and I'm currently trying two of them. I didn't make any statements about my employer's attitude towards streaming music, I'm assuming that you've got me confused with another commenter. I'm merely expressing my amazement at spotify's apparent lack of consistency between platforms.

Judging from the other threads though, I don't seem to be the only person who'd like to access content in a device-agnostic way.

Exactly, it cannot change the lanuage in the webplayer, and that's no any setting button on the webplayer

Getting rid of radio on the web player is a terrible, terrible idea. Please bring it back.

Sorry to piggyback, but why would they strip down the webplayer AFTER it's already been developed? I listen to Spotify at work for 8-9 hours every day and don't have the option of installing the desktop player so the webplayer is my only option. As it is now I do not have the option of queuing up songs anymore and now cannot freely scroll through my library as it only loads 50 songs at a time...

And no I do not want to be pushed into using the mobile or desktop app. Why I am paying for a service that goes out of it's way to limit functionality?

Don't for a second say that it's "made as a lightweight web client," because it's so laggy and glitchy. And they got rid of the queue. The old web player was also laggy and glitchy, but not to this extent.

Yes, this new version is absolutely pathetic.  I know they've been routinely been making their stuff worse since I first started paying for the premium.  I too cannot have the app downloaded during work, but it's totally fine to use the Web Player.  This is virtually unusable now and for the first time, like many others, I really am considering cancelling my subscribtion. I also saw someone mentinong the lag, and yes it's awful...songs randomly stopping for anywhere between 1-30 seconds.  GREAT WORK!?!

Only thing holding me back from canceling now is that they really do still have a great selection of music.

Agreed-  list of songs under the artist is not accessible.  (I'm still trying to find it btw).  Not a fan of the new web player

Same problem here with the artists - I can only see two artists under the Artist list in my library and only two albums under the Albums list (which oddly are from different artists).

And someday I'm sure they will add the ability to resort songs thru the webplayer....

So how about some attention to this issue? I was using IE because it still loaded the old player but they have not terminated support... I really don't want to have to revert back to Youtube to listen to my music.

When do majority of adults use spotify?

Driving or at work...

Alot of buisnesses will not allow you to install such aplications... therefor loss of funtionallity.

Abesolute **bleep** they removed it.
