Overlook/Don't count playlist

Overlook/Don't count playlist

There are many playlist in spotify that are generated based on the songs you listen to, such as "Weekly Discoveries". The problem is that sometimes I listen to songs that are not usually the type of songs I listen to on a regular basis. For example during exam season I only listen to lowfi/focus techno music which would not normally form part of my daily listens but they help me concentrate.

After exam season is over, I would love to listen to new songs (corresponding to my normal playlists) but spotify will mainly generate songs in the lowfi/focus techno music for me to discover.

I believe it would be a great addition if there was an option to "ignore" a playlist so that it would not count towards the algorithm choosing the songs to show me based on my "listened songs" of the last couple of weeks.

Hi there @rafamartinarroyo,

A similar feature already exists in the app: you can exclude playlists from your taste profile so that listening to them doesn't affect your future recommendations:

  1. Open the playlist and tap the three dots menu (right-click if you're on desktop / the Web Player).
  2. Select Exclude from taste profile.

If you change your mind, you can add them back to your taste profile anytime.

Cheers 🤘
