Play button not working on Mac Mavericks

Can't seem to play any Play Buttons through my desktop client. I can see the song and hit the play button which opens a small dialog and then brings Spotify to the foreground, but doesn't switch the currently playing song. The Play Button box continues advancing through the track although it doesn't stream through the desktop app. Tried both Chrome and FireFox

A little bit confused here, do you mean the play button on your keyboard or one in the Spotify app?
