Playlists missing songs using the windows 11 app, but there on android?

Playlists missing songs using the windows 11 app, but there on android?

Since May any song I add to my "liked songs" playlist doesn't show up when I browse this playlist on my computer using the official Spotify app for win11. These songs are present on Spotify and if I search for them play fine, they just don't show up on my playlist when using the PC app (and cannot be added using the windows app). These still show up fine when browsing the playlist on my Samsung Galaxy S24+ using the android app, for example on my phone there are 1935 songs in this playlist but on the pc only 1837. Does anybody have a suggestion to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community!

 

To investigate this further, can you let us know the following:

  • Your exact Spotify version.
  • Do you see the same behavior in the web player on your PC?
  • Can you add the songs to other playlists and do they display correctly there?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps like logging out and back in a couple of times or clean reinstalling the app?
  • Have you by any chance connected your account to a 3rd-party service before this started happening? If yes, remove access to it on this page and see if the behavior changes.

Thanks for the response. Ill reply in order of your questions;
1. Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.52.442.g01893f92

2. The web player seems to work fine.
3. Other playlists seem to work fine, just the "Liked songs" one doesn't.
4. I have tried logging out and back in, but not reinstalling, I hoped to avoid that if not necessary.
5. None to my knowledge.

Thanks for your reply and for the info shared.

 

Since you mentioned this does not happen on the web player, would you mind double-checking if you can replicate this behavior on the desktop app of a different computer? If possible, you can ask the computer of a relative or a friend to open your account there and check.

 

If you cannot replicate it, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on your computer. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the stored cache is not leading to some songs not showing. You can follow these steps to do it.

 

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The link to one of the songs you've noticed issues with.
  • Screenshots in which we can see the different number of songs on both your devices.
    Note:Be aware this is a public space, so please don't share any personal info on the screenshot you'll send us.
  • Do you use a VPN service? If yes, try setting up Spotify as an exception or switching it off. Keep in mind Spotify doesn't officially support VPN. This means that issues with the app while using VPN are expected behavior.
