Re: Why is there no shuffle on desktop?

Re: Why is there no shuffle on desktop?

But is there a way to set it so when you click "play" on the playlist, (not on the bar at the bottom of the screen), it starts the playlist on shuffle/not with the first song in the playlist?

Hey @Mapeline,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your reply out of the thread it was in, since it fits better in a new thread.

That being said, let us respond to your question. When you open the app, you can activate shuffle right away. Once you've done that, you have 2 options:

  • You can select the playlist you want to shuffle and hit the play button within. The playlist will start to play in a shuffle, and it's not gonna start from the first song.
  • You can select the first song of a playlist, and even though the first track is going to play, the rest of the playlist is going to continue in shuffle mode.

This applies in both the app in mobile devices and the desktop app. Give it a try and let us know how it goes!

If you're having inconveniences with it, you can send us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there.

Keep us in the loop!
