Receiver seemingly plays but no sound.

Receiver seemingly plays but no sound.

Streaming from reciever seems to work when checking the app, but no sound comes as of today September 4, 2024.

I have power cycled my Integra DTR-70.4 (Onkyo) without fixing this.

Chromecast connected to same receiver works.

In 2022 there seem to have been an update to Spotify causing a situation like this, which was later fixed by Spotify.

Hi, I am facing the same problem but on Onkyo TX-NR717. The source “Net” on Onkyo is working fine with Internet radio, unfortunately the Spotify is not working however it is showing that the music is playing. Also few days ago updated to iOS 17.6.1.

Any ideas please?

thx

Exactly the same issue, noticed this yesterday. Have tried all previously mentioned fixes so assume Spotify needs to run a fix/update. We wait.

Same issue here since yesterday. My Onkyo TX-8150 display the song from Connect but playing with no sound.
But it works perfectly on my Sonos receiver, with same source (iOS or MacOS app).

Me too - Connecting to a Raspberry Pi running LibreSpot.

The same problem is occurring to me from yesterday on my Onkyo TX-NR717 receiver. Streaming from my Android smarthone to the receiver opens the Spotify app, but no sound comes. Never had this before, even in 2022.

Same issue here, tried on moode audio, raspotify and picoreplayer.

I'm a french user, since yesterday my raspberry Pi2 (USB DAC) and Pi3 (ES9023 DAC) with moOde Audio connect but refuse to "sing".

I test with Volumio, piCore Player, DietPi raspotify same result... on the "remote" phone or PC the songs change after 4-5 seconds without sound on the raspberry !

Edit : my Pi3 is working again (moode audio) no update from me, no reboot since yesterday, it's just working now !

Getting the same issue. From android, mac laptop and windows pc.

I have 2 spotify connect speakers (phillips sw750m and sw700m)

Both where working on 2nd September.

Then on 3rd September, The sw700m refused to play music, but was commected as i could change the volume on the speaker and it was updating in app.

Now (4th September) both speakers refuse to play music.

Have tried from both accounts on our Duo plan, restarted everything etc.

Hi there folks,

Thanks your posts and for reporting the situation.

First up, we'd like to gather more info about the issue, in case we need to go ahead and report it:

  • Send over the exact make, model and OS of the speaker you're using.
  • Let us know the Spotify version you have installed.
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? (e.g., a reinstallation, restart the device, a different internet connection)
  • Did you notice if this started happening after a recent update or change?

In the meantime, could you try changing the DNS settings of your playback device and let us know if that makes a difference?

  1. Open your radio network settings
  2. Look if you can find any DHCP / IP / DNS settings
  3. If such are present, turn DHCP off and put a static IP with a new DNS: 64.225.68.86

We'll be on the lookout!

  • Speaker Information Model: Phillips SW750M SW Version: 2.8.27.67047-1A30
  • AND Model: Phillips SW700M SW Version: 2.8.27.67047-1A30
  • Tried from Android 8.9.70.556, latest mac version and latest windows store version.
  • Trouble shooting - restarted network, speakers, phones, laptops. Reinstalled spotify, tried different accounts from our duo plan.
  • Same network had both speakers working on the 2nd September, then only 1 worked on 3rd, then neither worked on the 4th.

  • Hifiberry OS Version 20230404
  • Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.5
  • Latest Android App and latest MacOS App
  • Rebooted Raspberry Pi several times
  • On September 2nd everything was running fine, since 3rd September Hifiberry is listed as device in the Spotify app, but remains silent, and the Spotify app jumps from track to track every few seconds when the hifiberry is chosen as playback device.

  1. I don't know the exact versions, a mix of samsung wam250/500/750 (link hub/m5/m7)

Spotify 8.9.70.556 (26th of August but problems started September 3rd)

Reset, turned power of etc of just about everything

Entering the dns in my router didn't work (like it did in 2022 when there were similar problems)

Connect still works for chromecast

  • Libratone ZIPP
  • Spotify for macOS (Intel) 1.2.45.454.gc16ec9f6
  • Tried restarting speaker and router.
  • Also tried selecting the Spotify Connect speakers as playback destination from various apps: Spotify Web, iOS, iPad OS, watchOS
  • Checked that the speaker works with other audio sources (e..g AirPlay)
  • Spotify Connect was working for me 3rd September, but since 4th September no sound comes out.

Same issue here. Connection works but no sound comes out as of September 4th 2024.

No updates or other issues in the previous period.

I tried reconnecting on the network and restarted my receiver.

I have an Onkyo TX-NR626 and play my Spotify from an Android smartphone.

Update : issue is fixed and sound is back on. I didn't touch anything so I guess Spotify took care of it.

Hopefully it stays that way 🤞

Dynaudio Connect is also down.

I have the same problem with Bowers&Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless.

Chromecast and Google Nest mini works.

Edit: my Spotify Connect speaker is now working again. Maybe something was fixed in the backend.

Hope your devices are working again too. 😅

Reading all this, surely it cannot be down to the amplifiers or internet
infrastructure at the Spotify streamers themselves. Most people here use
different amplifiers/speakers and live even in different countries. The
strange thing is also that this is now suddenly occurring with different
users and it was fine for a while.
Hopefully the people at Spotify themselves can find a cause, because it's
an unfortunate handicap for 'premium members' who pay their membership
every month!
