Save day list as a playlist

Save day list as a playlist

i would like the ability to save the Daylist as a playlist. Sometimes the algorithm is spot on i love playlist, but with the way daylist works, it disappears in a few hours. Because of this, i currently have a bunch of screenshots of playlists i like.

Hey @Klxdawg,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We hope you don't mind us moving your post out of the ideas section to one of our Help boards as it fits better here.

That being said, we can confirm it's already possible to add all the songs of a daylist on another playlist. To do it, you can go to its three-dot menu and from there select Add to other playlist option. From there, you can either create a new playlist or add those tracks to an existing one.

If perhaps the idea you have in mind is different from this, feel free to post your suggestion again, but make sure you add as many details as possible of what you'd like to see implemented on the app. The more detailed your feature request is, the better! It’s easier for other users to know what you’re suggesting, so they can add their support and feedback.

We welcome you to submit a new one with more info. Just take into account that you must follow our Idea Exchange guidelines, so your suggestion will be approved more quickly and smoothly.

We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.

Hi AlejaR,

I had the same issue as @Klxdawg and can't seem to find the Add to other playlist option under the three dots menu? I can only see the below option:

  • Remove from Your Library
  • Add to queue
  • Add to profile
  • Report
  • Exclude from your taste profile
  • Move to folder
  • Share
  • About recommendations
  • Open in desktop app

Currently using Spotify in a Chrome browser.

Thanks,
Carl

hi! i love that this is already a feature, however i don’t have that in my list of options. i’m using the spotify mobile app.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your replies.

@carlmnielsen96, we can confirm that this isn't an option currently on the web player, but you should be able to see it on the desktop and mobile apps.

@Klxdawg, would you mind sending us a screenshot of what options are you seeing on the mobile app? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

We'll be waiting for your replies.

I thought if we click on the + and add to library it would stay in the library but it does not. I am using it on my computer, I am not sure what a desktop app is, I thought that was your web player. I also do not have save to playlist, and am curious what the save to profile does?

Hi there folks,

Here's an alternative you can use to save the current edition of the daylist as a separate playlist:

  1. Navigate to the daylist and click on the first song at the top to select it.
  2. Scroll down all the way to the bottom.
  3. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard and click on the last song - this will will select all tracks in between.
  4. Right-click on the last song and select Add to other playlist > New playlist. Now you have a snapshot of the daylist that won't automatically update.

@Kayron, think of the Add to Your Library button as creating a shortcut for easier access. As for your other question, did you mean Add to profile? If so, the option makes it so that when someone visits your Spotify profile, the playlist would show up under the Public Playlists section.

The following playlists have been added to the profile via the "Add to profile" option. The following playlists have been added to the profile via the "Add to profile" option.

Feel free to elaborate further in case you meant something else 👍

Cheers!
