Where did all the albums go? I had a bunch in my playlists and now they're empty. The whole Perception box set is gone too. The Premium acount isn't worth it if artist albums just go missing!
Hey! 🙂
Any content that has disappeared or been removed (the tracks will still be in your playlist, just hidden because they unplayable) is normally down to the record label or rights holder. Sometimes content is removed due to licensing changes, transfer of ownership or due to a request from the content owner. Tracks normally reappear in the future so keep an eye out.
Spotify upload all music which is made available to them for our enjoyment, they want all the music in the world to be available, just like us!
I would suggest you have a read at the missing content FAQ as it will probably answer most of your questions!

Thanks for your reply! In other words, this could be one of a number of things and it's not transparent to the user what happened. It would be very useful if the users would get a message explaining what exactly happened with which playlist, album or artist they had added and when that deleted music was likely to be back (if ever).

Unfortunately, I can't see that information ever being publically available.
The music industry are pretty secretive when it comes to licensing, with non-disclosure agreements and everything else that goes on! As for the music coming back, I don't think Spotify ever really "know" when it would come back, since it is normally down to the record labels to add content.

Thanks for the update! Can we get an update when tracks or albums added to playlists are taken off though? That's something which Spotify can do automatically when the database records are updated.
