My Question or Issue
When I start any DRM Protected Content on Spotify, I'm unable to use my phone.
It takes minutes for a touch to be registred and when I press the Volume Buttons it also takes a good while but then it turns the volume either completely up or down. The device is fully Operational, the clock still goes, the app still displays and updates the song progress, and if I wait long enough my touches will even execute actions (like gestures or skipping the song).
I can still pause the song using my Pixel Buds and then I can use my Screen and Buttons normally again
Anyone having this issue too? Any solution?
Hey @Rafael200,
Sorry to see you've been experiencing this!
Input lag may be caused by corrupted cache files. You may try removing them by following the steps here.
If this doesn't help you out, we may go for a clean reinstall instead. To do so, follow the instructions under Android -> Clean reinstall from this article.
Let us know how it went!
We're here for you if the issue persists afterwards.
Cheers!
You can no longer clear "cache" on Iphone products. The only option available is to uninstall and reinstall application.
Hey @Diamonic,
Thanks for your reply.
You should be able to clean the cache by going to the app's settings> Storage> clear cache. You can read how in this article.
On another note, just to confirm, are you experiencing the same behavior described in this thread? If yes, please send us all the details. If not, we recommend to creating a new post to avoid confusion.
Lastly, can you share with us the exact make/model and OS of your device along with the Spotify version you have currently running?
Keep us in the loop!
Hey @Vasil
Thank you for your answer, I already did that and a clean reinstall. This helped for a short time but it started to happen again after a short time
Hey there @Rafael200,
Can you let us know if your phone lags like that when playing any of your local files, or only ones that you know are DRM protected? Such files usually have certain restrictions on how they can be used and in which software they can be played.
Also, let us know if the songs are located on your phone's internal storage or the SD card.
Cheers.
Hey there @Alex
A Pixel 6 device does not has an SD Card slot and it only happens with drm protected files, not for example podcasts.
Also I'm running an unmodified version of android and do not participate in any beta program
Hey @Rafael200,
Thanks for keeping us posted and the info shared.
It'd be really helpful if you send us a video recording in which we can see how the app behaves when playing regular content and then, how it behaves when playing the DMR files. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.
Keep us in the loop!
@AlejaR
I'm sorry currently it's working since I deleted all the files, we would have to wait until it gets worse again
