After I log in using the WebPlayer (https://play.spotify.com/) I'm prompted to install Flash. This also happens with Opera (37). It works fine in Edge but more to the point is why am I prompted for Flash in the first place when I have it installed. Is there a fix?
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
NPAPI based Flash Player is required for Firefox. It isn't blocked as another user said. (The PPAPI version is for Chrome and Opera)
Sometimes a flag isn't set right when Flash is installed or updated.
With Flash installed, type "about:config" in the Firefox address bar and click the "I'll be careful" button.
search for "plugin.state.flash". You most likely will find the valure for this is "0".
If you modify this to "1",(you can close that page now) you will find a refresh of the Spotify webplayer page will suddenly start working again. 😉
Thanks Toku, it doesn't work in Firefox but does in Opera. That's brilliant for me.

Have the same issue but the solution doesn't seem to work for me (value of plugin was on 2 and I set it to 1 but no change), and this also happened all of a sudden.
I'm using Debian Jessie and they did recently bring back Firefox - but I thought Iceweasel was the same.
I did reinstall Flash so that couldn't be it. And advice?
I have the same problem of you. I'm using Windows 10, Firefox 49.
HTML5 has been around for long enough that the security hazard commonly referred to as "Flash" needs to finally die.
