Spotify and car Bluetooth issues

Spotify is playing in the background when I answer a call on my Bluetooth in the car. I am having to tell the caller hold on while I manually pause the song playing on my Galaxy s4. I didn't always have this problem. In the past Spotify would auto pause when I received an incoming call and would continue when call ended now I have to take if of pause for music to start again. I own a 2012 Toyota Camry. Being that this was not always an issue I am thinking this has something to do with one of those Spotify upgrades. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!
