Spotify app for Windows phone 8.1, shuts down if music is paused for a few min!!!

Hello am i the only one who have this problem, that the app close down if you pause the music for a few min, and you have to unlock you phone and let spotify reload again?
And this leads to the next problem, if you had it on suffle in a playlist and you pause the music, the app shuts down and you have to open it again, the shuffle-mode is like reset so if you play that list again and keep it on shuffle you will hear the same songs you just heard, because it starts all over again.

Anyone else?

Shame to see that teh Spotify apps are so bad on Win 8.1. I was tempted by the $.99 offer but I guess I'll stick with Xbox Music until Spotify gets it's act together. I'm still running a beta that's a year old with no updates. In that amount of time I started a new company and wrote digital control software, by myself.

The app is unusable on my Tablet, and sub-par on my Yoga 2 Pro. Sounds like the WP app isn't much better.

Even just being more communicative with your users would go a long way. The lack of information makes me think there's a lack of activity. A year into the Beta and nothing to tell the community?

I'm experiencing the same problem. It seems to have been introduced after the last update near the beginning of the year I think. This coupled with the fact that the app takes forever to resume/startup is pretty annoying when I, for example, get out of my car to get some groceries, then come back and have to relaunch the app to resume music playback.

No, it's the same as it always has been with the Spotify app on WP. The app gets "garbage collected" after a few minutes if you pause the music and "Currenty playing" and play/pause disappears.

Other apps manage to keep themselves "in memory", even while paused. Xbox Music, MixRadio (previously Nokia MixRadio) and Podcast Lounge, to name a few...

It's really annoying since I listen to music at work and I have to pause every time someone comes to talk with me and then it's impossible to start the music again without opening Spotify again (which takes a really long time) and pressing play inside the app. BUT it seems to remember my playlist, so I don't have to open the right playlist over and over..! Babysteps! 🙂
