Spotify isn't playing anything on any of my devices

Spotify isn't playing anything on any of my devices

everytime I try to play something is just doesn't load or the screen is black. I've tried different devices, changing wifi networks, logging in and out and deleting and reinstalling the app but nothing seems to be working

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome. 

 

Kudos for all the troubleshooting you've tried so far! We understand you've already tried a reinstall of the app. We'd like you to try a clean (more thorough) reinstall of the app on the affected devices. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the stored cache is not leading to the app not being able to play content.

 

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

  • The make/model and OS of all the affected devices.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running on those.
  • Does this happen no matter the kind of content you try to play? If you notice this is happening when trying to play something specific, please share the link to it with us.
  • Did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event, such as an OS update?

I have done the clean reinstall but I am still facing the same issue (now Spotify on my Mac is just a black screen)

iPhone 15 iOS 18.1.1    9.0.10.409 

iPad iPados 18.0.1     9.0.10.409 

and I have not noticed that this happens when I play something specific or after an os update 

I would also like to clarify that sometimes Spotify does load and play music but then just stops completely for days

Are you using a VPN? If so, I'd recommend disabling it to see if that does the trick. Also, could you confirm that all devices are allowed to access your network? You can do this from your iOS settings > Privacy > Local Network. If you haven't already, try with cellular data as well.

 

As for your Mac, make sure Spotify is allowed through your Firewall. You can also try changing the "Proxy type" to No proxy in the app's settings.

 

Something else that's worth checking if the issue persists with another account: you can ask someone who uses Spotify to log in to their account on your device to see if that'd work.
