My Question or Issue

I´ve had spotify premium running on several echo devices for years without a problem. Since my kids were often "stealing" spotify via echo devices at home while I was listening to podcasts in the car, I was often disabling spotify inside the alexa app temporarely.

Several month ago it happened that I could not re-connect Spotify inside the Alexa App again. This problem now persists for month.

I go to connect new music service inside the alexa app, but spotify is not listed  anymore. (actually no other music/podcast services are listed to connect)

I´ve tried to reinstall the Alexa App several times but nothing changed. As suggested in this forum, I have visited my spotify account settings trying to revoke/reset alexa support in the spotify account app settings but alexa is not listed there either.

Please advise. Thanks
(none of the many blogpost about alexa/spotify issues has helped me so far)

Hey @sydneydean,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

In this type of case, the connection is not being recognized by the Alexa app (as it's not showing other music services either. However, you can try a few things from our side. Would you mind checking if the Alexa device is listed in the "available devices" section in your Spotify app (using Connect) from a different device? This will give us a better look at the issue.

Also, could you check if changing the Wi-Fi network in your Alexa makes any difference?

In case the issue persists, as this feature is from the Alexa app, we'd recommend contacting their Customer support directly to check why you don't have music/podcast services listed when trying to connect new music.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

Hello @OscarDC
no, I cannot see any my three amazon echo speakers inside the spotify connect device section.
The echos are on two different WiFis but none of them are showing up - nothing was changed to network setup before/after the problem arose.

From my point of view it seems that the Alexa App does not know Spotify Service exists at all.
By default it shows Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, TuneIn but the List to add new services is always empty.

Guess it really is an issue with Amazon Alexa. Thanks

Hey @sydneydean,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

With the info you mentioned, it really looks like the issue could be on the Amazon side. In this case, we'd recommend contacting their Customer Support for further assistance. However, if they pointed out something we didn't try, don't hesitate to mention it 🙂

We appreciate the time you took following the troubleshooting and sharing this information.
