My Question or Issue
Hi,
When I took the Spotify Premium MINI plan for 1 day and used the Connect feature in the android app to stream music to my avr I found the sound quality very poor. After a while I changed the options for streaming quality from "automatic" to "high" and the quality of the playback immediately improved. The "very high" option gave a "unavailable in your plan" error. But changing that setting that should not be affecting the sound quality from casting to avr as the settings were for streaming not for Connect, right? Some googling led me to articles where it said Connect would always stream at 320kbps. But those posts were quite old. Is this true even today and even for the Premium MINI plans which I believe is restricted to high quality/160kbps while Connect apparently is supposed to be 320kbps?
TIA

Hey @88bhel88,
The streaming quality of Connect is the highest possible for your active plan. For Premium Mini this would be 160kbps. 320kbps is only available to Premium users.
Hope this clears things up a bit 🙂
Cheers!
Hey @88bhel88,
It actually doesn't. The Streaming Quality Setting does not in any way affect Connect quality, as Connect gets automatically set to the highest quality available for your plan + platform.
Only the maximum bitrate is a factor here 🙂
Hope you'll find this info useful.

thanks for the reply @Vasil
so does the option chosen for the "streaming quality" setting in the app affect the Connect stream quality too?

thanks for the help @Vasil. cheers.
I wish spotify mentioned that in their promotions/on their website more clearly. I did not know that Mini plans were limited to 160kbps, subscribed to it and as a result lost out on a good promotion plan for the regular Premium subscription.
