Spotify stops playing all songs after 1 second

Casting to my google chrome, spotify stops playing any song after 1 second. When I send the music back to come out of my computer or phone after that it does the exact same thing..... I have to restart spotify multiple times to try to fix it, and sometimes it takes so many times I just give up. I've tried re-logging in and reinstalling spotify on my devices multiple times and nothing makes any difference. I've had the google chrome for years, never had any issues with it, and then this started about a month ago and has made spotify pretty much useless to me during the day....

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. 

We understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps including reinstalling, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?

Also, since you're casting to an external device, would you mind checking if this also happens with a different speaker? This will give us a better look at the issue.

Lastly, it would be great if you could also test it using a different Wi-Fi network to see if it makes any difference. In case you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot.
