Spotify stops playing when monitor powers off

My laptop monitor shuts off after 4 minutes, but when it does, Spotify stops playing.  If I jiggle the mouse, the monitor comes back on and so does Spotify.   How can i keep Spotify playing when the monitor shuts off ???

Hey @victord66, thanks for posting! 

Here's a workaround I've been using on my old laptop, hope this works for you too : ) 

• Right click on your battery > Power Options
• Choose what closing the lid does: Do Nothing - so you can still put it to sleep manually.
• Change when the computer sleeps: 2 hours for example (doesn't really matter)
• Choose when to turn the display off: After 1 min (or what you prefer)

Thanks very much for your advice.  I've started using a small app called 'Don't Sleep' which is working just fine.  In any event I like keeping the lid of my laptop open when I'm listening to Spotify, so your solution looks like it would do the same thing as the 'Don't Sleep' app.
