Spotify won't disconnect from Google Home

Hi guys,

I used my mom's Google Home once to play music from my Spotify while visiting. I don't live with her, so I don't use the Google Home at all, and no matter how many times I tell Spotify to forget that device, EVERY TIME someone in my family tries to play music from the Google Home, it starts streaming it from MY Spotify and I can't get it to stop.

Is there any way to prevent this?

It's not a matter of the device mistaking my voice, either, as my brother (I'm a girl) has asked it to play music and it just connected to my Spotify then too.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

It sounds like your Spotify account was linked with your mom's Google Home. In this case, we'd suggest first asking her to follow the steps below in order to unlink your Spotify account from Google Home:

1. In the Google Home app, tap the menu in the top-left corner.
2. Tap Account preferences, then Linked media accounts.
3. Select Spotify and tap Unlink Account.

She can also find the steps here on how to link her own Spotify account on Google Home after that.
