My Question or Issue

I've been having this issue for months. It started off with the app when it stopped showing my playlists and whenever I tried to play a song it wouldn't, so I moved on to the site. It worked fine until I deleted my history, sign-in data etc. Now, whenever I try to log in on any account I keep getting a "something went wrong" error and whenever I try reloading the site it shows the same thing. This happens on any account I try logging into but it works just fine on my phone. I tried reinstalling it thousands of times, deleting my data over and over but it won't work. Please help.

Hi there @edenmp3,

Thanks for reaching out. If login and everything else works fine on other devices, then it would seem that that specific Windows PC is the root cause. Consider checking the firewall and antivirus settings on it to make sure Spotify isn't being blocked from access. If you use a proxy server or VPN, disable those and try again.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I've tried all of these, it sadly doesn't work.

Hey @edenmp3,

Thanks for your reply.

In this case, you can also try cleaning up your hosts file. To do it, you can follow the steps in this article. If this behavior persists after that, would you mind sharing with us the Spotify version you're running on your computer?

As a next step, would you mind trying running the app in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking to rule out any issues with your default Windows settings and basic device drivers? Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, does this happen if you change the internet connection you're using? Is this happening over WiFi? Ethernet? Both? If possible, you can create a hotspot on your phone and connect your computer to it, to see if you notice any difference. Give it a try and let us know if changing the connection makes any difference.

Keep us in the loop!

Thank you so much! I've been struggling with this for so long. Cleaning up the hosts file fixed it. I can't thank you enough.
