Sync across different devices doesn't work like it should

Sync across different devices doesn't work like it should

I listen on different devices and the sync between them always breaks.
I am talking about Desktop, App and Sonos as well as using Spotify in the Car.
For example when you switch between Sonos and the App the current stored session of a listened podcast breaks and it starts at the beginning (or at a totally different part you already listenend). Same often happens when driving a car. All the devices have a different stored progress of music and podcasts. This is something which works on every other streaming service without any problem but is broken on Spotify since years!
Can you finally address this issue and fix it pls.

Hey @zausi95,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

At the moment, the progress of a song/episode will only sync between devices if you have both apps opened and change the playback source. This means that if you're listening to a podcast on your desktop, and open the mobile app, it will sync the progress and then you can close the desktop app to keep listening on your phone.

However, if you first close the desktop app before opening the mobile app, since the process is saved in the device cache, it will not sync it and will start playing it from the beginning.

In this case, we'd recommend posting this as a new idea on our Idea Exchange board so it can be voted on and reach the relevant teams to be taken into account. You can do it here.

We'd also recommend taking our Guidelines into account before posting it to avoid any rejection.
