Unable to connect Yamaha RX-V477 Receiver

I have Spotify Premium and my Yamaha receiver is running the latest firmware version and is connected to the same network as my Wifi devices.  However, when I got to select the receiver from the devices list (Android app and Linux PC) it does not show up at all.  I have tried setting a static IP and turning off media prioritization on my router, and neither solution has worked.  Is this a known issue?

First download a Yamaha app for your mobile device and confirm that you are able to controll your Reciever, also confirm that Spotify shows up in that app then:
