I'm on the premium plan, using the Windows desktop app version of Spotify. I'm trying to remove a song from my Discover Weekly playlist, since it's been there before and I didn't think much of it the first time. The button to do this has been removed. I can find old posts explaining where it is, and it's not there any more. How do I remove this song from my playlist?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Very true. The Release Radar playlist does indeed still have on the desktop app the Hide song functionality that is missing on the Discover Weekly.
This is my #1 used feature in Spotify. Music discovery is important to me, but since Discover Weekly very often suggests the music it already suggested (and I did not like) or suggests things that I'm really not into, I want to be able to hide them or I won't use Discover Weekly at all. Discover Weekly is the thing that keeps me with Spotify. If this is gone permanently, I'll find no value in Spotify above what the competition offers.
Same issue here. "dislike"-button is missing from desktop app, but is visible on mobile app.
In addition -> pressing the (-) button on the mobile application does no affect on the desktop app. It looks like the linking is broken somehow.
Bring the dislike button back! skipping a song is not a way to stop songs from playing on discover weekly, nor on playlists. If I want to stop listening to a song, I want a button to remove it from my queue because I dislike that song!
Thank you for confirming that Eni!
Although, that's disappointing to hear. A feature update is meant to be just that; an 'UPdate'. This removal demonstrates that Spotify are instead going backwards in terms of feature offerings. How unfortunate.
This is a big problem. Previously, I could quickly select tracks, but now I don't have that option.
Spotify has many annoying little things, but this was the last straw. How could such a critical feature for users be broken? Judging by the discussion, the Spotify team doesn't seem too concerned about it and assumes users will just put up with it.
Spotify is really making their best attempt at ensh*tification huh
Spotify has removed the Hide Button and I want it back.
What button? This Button .
The support says "We're constantly testing possible improvements, so you or someone else may see something new or experience a limited feature temporarily in the app. We'd love your feedback so we can pass it on to the right team."
It's the same and they don't care.
Now Lets bring it Back.

They are working to "improve the underlying solution across Mobile and Desktop"
The title sums it up. I'm running version 1.2.53.440-1 on Manjaro Linux. Up until last month there was the option to hide songs in playlists with the minus sign, which sits next to the plus sign, but the minus sign is now gone (except in the Release Radar playlist). Right-clicking a song won't give me the option hide it, either. I used this feature a lot because the weekly recommendations always suggest 1-2 minute songs for no good reason, which is another problem of itself. If this feature won't be restored in the next month or so, I have no more reasons to keep my subscription.
Week 3 and still no hide button. It was working perfectly fine before, until yall bricked it. Why is is so hard to reinstate a previously working feature that a significant amount of users liked/used?
Same thoughts here. To add to the confusion, the feature still works in release radar. There wasn't a sync issue between mobile or PC in my experience. Any time I hid a song on one, the change would be shown on the other. I'll just not listen to my discover weekly until I see it's been fixed properly
Jesus Christ, Spotify, give us that button back, i have 0 interest of using your service without the ability to control my recommendations.
Thank you for the information. I would mark it "Accept as a solution" when we have an actual running solution.
Also I would suggest a "remove" button in every lists coming from Spotify and from other people. This would feed our taste to the algorithm, and keep the list running without the songs we don't like. Thoughts?
The "minus" button was the ONLY WAY we can moderate our Discover Weekly playlist. If I must and re-listen all the cheap **bleep** you proposing... Anyway, you steal money from musicians and now you steal from us the function with which we can dislike your **bleep**, fake AI music.
Discover Weekly has become a whole lot less attractive to listen to now.
It is very surprising how such a basic functionality has been removed for this long already.
It's funny that this is happening right now when Spotify is flooded with AI slop. Every week I have this trash in my Discover Weekly and Release Radar and now I can't even hide it anymore.
