Unable to share canvas to any app

As the title says, I’m unable to share Spotify canvases to ANY app. I’ve tried with Instagram and Snapchat and they do not work. I’ve tried cleansing my cache, uninstalling the app, turning Canvas on and off, and even restarted my device. None of these things have helped and the issue still persists. I am running on version 8.7.10.1611. Please let me know if anyone else has this problem or if you guys have any ideas on how to fix it. Thanks so much in advance!

I am able to share as canvas to both Facebook stories and as snapchat, even Instagram dm. However I am not able to share as canvas as Instagram stories. My phone model is Samsung Galaxy s22+ 

One UI version is 5.8

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

A possible reason why you can't share Canvas is that your phone is in data saver mode. Can you double check your battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option?

Also, this feature is not a default setting, so you must enable it in the app's settings. Open the Spotify app and click on “Settings”, Scroll down and check if Canvas is toggled on.

If you've checked all these and you still experience the same, it'd be great if you can share with us your Spotify version and if you experience this on 5G, Wi-Fi or both?

It still doesn't work, both on wifi and 5G. Its the same thing for the spotify wrapped story.

I have tried without data saver mode and it still dosen`t work, when it comes to Spotify version is it 8.7.86.422 and it is the same problem on wifi and 5G, but on my old phone do I not have that problem at all.

@CandyLama, @carabaggio, in this case, we'd like to check, is this happening with songs that don't have canvas? Does it happen also when trying to share any other song on Instagram?

On another note, is this happening when you try to share the canvas on other platforms? It'd be awesome if you could check.

Specifically i'm having this issue also sharing songs without canvas. So the problem is sharing on ig stories.

i can't try with other platforms cause i just have ig.

@bayero, just to confirm, are you having inconveniences sharing your songs on Instagram as well or you just don't see the Canvas option in your settings app? Keep in mind currently Canvas is available for Android and iOS devices, but this excludes tablets. 

If you can't see the Canvas setting on your mobile, it looks like what you're describing is this inconvenience. We reported this to our tech folks; even though the status is set as Not right now, it doesn't mean this is not being investigated. We’d suggest adding your vote in the thumbs up icon and subscribing to it to get notified as soon as we have any updates to share.

@carabaggio, if that the case, perhaps the behavior you're seeing in your side is the one reported in this thread. So, we'd recommend having a look at it and providing us there with the info we'll need to report it. You can find the details we'll need you to send us in the pin message at the top of the thread.

I want to share the Spotify canvas on my stories but there is no canvas showing when I click on the share button for any song.

I toggled on the canvas button but it doesnt show canvas in any songs after an update, even the songs that have canvas before. It doesnt show canvas when i share it on instagram stories too

I have the same issue. When I try to share a spotify song and video on insta story, it lets me share the song but not the video (the video is visible on the spotify app though). I have tried to clean cache, uninstalling and reinstalling both apps and restarting my phone but nothing works.

Canvas is temporarily unavailable on Instagram stories at the moment. This is something our internal teams are aware of and are working on.

At Spotify, we're often testing and launching improvements to the app. This means you might occasionally see something your friend doesn’t, or get a new feature to try temporarily.

Hello. This seems to be happening yet again. I have reinstalled both IG and Spotify but the visuals are not being pulled into my IG stories BUT they are for other apps like SnapChat. Please look into this and fix...sharing tracks with blank gross backgrounds is sad times. THANK YOU
