Unable to use spotif connect for a given podcast

Unable to use spotif connect for a given podcast

Hi all,

I'm using spotify premium in France

I run the app mainly on iphone iOS 16.1.1 (app version 8.7.86.510) and macOS 13.0.1 (app version 1.1.99.878.g1e4ccc6e)

I'm using spotify connect on a Denon AVR-X1100W and a Audiocast M5, both officially supported for spotify connect

It works for eveything but this podcast : https://open.spotify.com/show/3vS7gWYpz4ry0yRnQ345hU?si=24cec9ac40534022

local playing is ok

bluetooth is ok

googlecast is ok

airplay is ok

but spotify connect is greyed out for both my devices, from both my iphone and my mac (error message differs, it's in french but translates in "restricted playback" on iphone and "playback impossible" on mac)

Where is this restriction coming from?

Thanks!

Hey @pedral,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, just to confirm, have you tried restarting your devices and your router to make sure everything is synced up?

On another note, we'd suggest checking if perhaps there are any firmware updates available for your speakers and install them as well.

Just to clarify, is this happening just with this one podcast or did you notice if this is happening with other podcasts as well? It'd be awesome if you could check.

Lastly, we'd like to share some insights. There are some limitations that exist for some podcasts and that might be the reason why you can't stream them using the Connect feature. There is an idea about changing that and it was posted here. Even though the status is set as Case Closed, it doesn't mean the idea has been rejected. We’d suggest adding your vote in the thumbs up icon and subscribing to it to get notified as soon as we have any updates to share.
