My Question or Issue

I cannot access the web player. When I try, all I get is a page asking me to enable the web player in my browser (Chromium), which I have done. I saw a post from someone with a similar issue and clicked the "Me Too" button at the bottom of it, but now I can't find it.

I've cleared my cache and cookies. I also tried to access the web player in a fresh Chromium window, but no dice. When I try in Firefox, I am able to log in and everything works.

I'd like to be able to use the web player in Chromium, though, because it's my default browser. The answer at the bottom of the similar post was to download the desktop app, which I do not want to do. Can anyone provide any insight?

Hey @user-removed

Spotify web player works on the following browsers:

Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera

There are a bit of issues with Chrome (and Chromium) on Unix systems. I suggest reading this Stackexchange query to learn more on what happened and what causes this.

You may try out this code, that has made Spotify work in Vivaldi and has a guide on how to use it in Chromium. I can't guarantee it will actually work and the easiest solution to this issue might be using Firefox.

I hope this helps, have a lovely day 🙂

Sebasty,

I ended up being able to install actual Chrome, and I'm able to login to the web player with that. Thanks for the suggestions, anyway. Much appreciated.
