Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

It's possible that the your gets interrupted, should it be your Spotify account that's currently linked to her Google device. Keep in mind that it's necessary to link a Spotify account to the speaker's manufacturer account, for example Google Home, and this is required from both ends, Spotify and the manufacturer. This means that each Spotify account must be linked with an individual speaker account, and the speaker can only be used by the account that currently is linked. Feel free to have a look at this page to see how to link accounts.

With Google speakers, however, you can set up multiple accounts in the same speaker using Voice Match. You can find more info on how to set it up here. If you have any questions on how those work, we recommend reaching out to the manufacturer's support.

We hope this clear things up. Cheers!

Hi Maria,

my wife and I have spent about 5 hours trying to fix this same issue.  My Spotify (primary) isn’t associated with any of our google devices.   I don’t have any google home on my phone.  Whenever anyone requests google to play music it takes over my account.   There is 0 support that actually fixes this.

Hi there @Svantw,

Thanks for your reply in this thread.

First up, make sure your Spotify account is not linked to any of the Google devices. You might not have the Google Home app installed on your device, but ask the users who do have the Google app installed to unlink Spotify just to make sure they're not using your account. They can follow these steps:

  1. In the Google Home app, tap Account in the top-right.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Music under services.
  4. Tap UNLINK.
  5. Link a new Spotify account.

On another note, go to your Account Overview page and check if Google is connected in the Manage Apps section. If it is, then click on Remove Access.

Let us know how that goes.
