Windows 10 app (from app store) doesn't open

Windows 10 app (from app store) doesn't open

I recently joined Spotify and was using the desktop app on my Windows 10 laptop. The problem is, the app kept freezing my computer. After an internet search, I found a topic on here that suggested to use the app from the store instead. So I did. That app works great - when it opens at all. Clicking the icon anywhere (taskbar, desktop, Start menu) doesn't do anything. The only fix is temporary: uninstall the app and reinstall it from the Windows 10 app store. Are there any other fixes so I don't have to do this every other day? I'd rather not return to the desktop app and have my laptop freeze daily just because I want to listen to my Spotify playlists.

Hey!

I am not sure what could be causing that problem, but it could be fixed with future updates. In the meantime, I suggest using the Spotify Web player. You will be able to do all of the same things, but you will need an internet connection. Happy streaming!

I did a little experiment and figured out the problem: not sure why but it didn't seem to like the fact that my music library from my computer was included (it was added when I first got the program). So I deleted the iTunes Playlists folder under Playlists and went into settings and disabled iTunes as a local source of music. Have had no problems opeing up the app so far.
