i will try again when i return home from work, it may have been a slow connection i was using at the time. thank you for the reassurance!!
Well it turns out, Spotify can be used with Windows 8 tablets, but only with their crappy "Spotlite" app. And it doesn't have any offline mode. Therefore, I returned the tablet for a full refund (thank the lord) and may consider purchasing one again if I hear of any updates on the accommodation of all mobile devices. Spotify's "premium subscription" should warn users before they waste their time. However, most of today's mobile devices are Apple, so most people have nothing to worry about. GRR! (Rant Over)

Spotlite is a third party app as far as I know, so Spotify themselves did not make it. Spotify haven't released any app for Windows 8, just the standard Windows program that runs on all Windows computers. If you bought a Surface RT, I'm afraid Spotify just doesn't care about you.
Unfortunate that you returned the tablet because of Spotify, and I know how you feel. You may want to consider other streaming services with better support for different platforms.
Right now, I could use it for school, but I really only wanted it for mobile music, and no, I don't really want to start over on another music service. I'll buy or borrow a cheap ipod 😛

I just purchased a Microsoft Surface Tablet thinking with my premium subscription I could finally utilize my offline playlists. I was able to in the past with my Apple iPod touch, and this is a huge disappointment. There needs to be an app for Windows that is like the one for Apple. Does anyone know when it will happen? If not, I may have to return the tablet and go back to an Apple product.
Hi ! I purchased Windows Rt Tablet today. I was gutted when I noticed there is no possibility to play/save music in offline mode . I think I may just found out the solution to this problem. At least it worked for me.
what you have to do is to Install desktop version for Win 8 (just normal app)
Connect the mouse to your tablet.
These buttons (offline available) dont react to touch - click them with the mouse - it works.
I have Hp Omni 10 - amazing device 😄
Still have to find out how to activate the search option without connecting the mouse to my tablet...
I hope maybe I can help someone 🙂
The problem is that the Windows desktop version of Spotify does not work on Windows RT devices. The best you can do with Spotify on WinRT is to use the web version on desktop IE, as Metro IE becomes suspended when off screen.
Although, despite my issues with using Spotify Desktop with touch, the buttons work. Not well, but they do work. Spotify basically interpretes touch input as left-clicks, so buttons should work as long as you target them carefully. It's not a very good experience obviously, and scrolling is basically impossible, so you may as well use a mouse anyway, but just pointing that out.
porque nadie respnde ni se hace cargo de dar una solucion.
