Your Time Capsule Playlist changing content in the middle of listening.

Your Time Capsule Playlist changing content in the middle of listening.

My "Your Time Capsule Playlist" keeps changing content in the middle of listening. When I switch to another playlist and come back, it looks like it updated to a new mix. But then it'll go back to what it showed originally without me changing lists.  It goes back and forth between the same two "versions" and can't make up it's mind on what list it is.  Both have the same "date added"  It also often repeats the same 4-5 tracks instead of playing continuously (both shuffle and repeat are turned off.)  Using Windows 11 Desktop Version.

Hey there, thanks for asking in the community!

May I ask if this happens only on your Desktop app or on other devices as well?

Hey there @Ximzend

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on your desktop app?

On another note, we'd like to know if this happens every time you listen to your Time Capsule or only on occasions.

Lastly, did this start happening after a specific event such as an update?

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Hi Eni,

I just checked, and it only happens when I listen to the playlist on Desktop, not on my Android phone.

It happens every time during listening to the playlist. Sometimes it's multiple times per minute.

Previously, I didn't listen to this playlist, ao I can't answer this question.

Hi @Ximzend,

Thanks for your reply and the info shared.

Would it be posible for you to send a video/recording of the issue? In the meantime, as this only happens only on your desktop app, we'd recommend going to the app Settings > Storage > Clear caché. Then restart your app and check if that makes a difference. If that doesn't help, try doing a clean reinstall of the app.

Lastly, if the issue persists, let us know if this happens on the Web Player and send over the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're running.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply!

After clearing cache, the problem persists. Going to clean install it now.

The problem persists after a clean reinstall. (Not able to record it at the moment.)

Hi there @Ximzend,

Thanks for the post.

Can you make a screen recording of these switches happening? You can upload the file as an attachment or as a link to Youtube. This will help us pinpoint why this may be happening.

Looking forward to your reply.

Here is a screen capture of the playlist changing:
Queued a song while playing track 14. After the playlist changing back and the queued song ended, it began playing track 10.

Hi there @Ximzend,

Thanks for the video.

Thank you. Note: It also happens when I don't queue a song. When I was recording it, it didn't happen for around 8 minutes. So sometimes it's a couple of times a minute, and sometimes one time in a dozen of minutes.
And, it happens also on another laptop from a different brand with the same Spotify version and with the same account: spotify:user:11179373719

Hey folks,

We've been unable to reproduce this behaviour on our end for some time now. If any of you continue to face this issue, please let us know so we can look into this further.

Cheers!

I'm facing the same problem in Desktop app.

Hey @scazy,

Thanks for posting here and welcome.

In this case, would you mind sending us the exact troubleshooting steps you've followed so far? That way we can avoid repeating any steps. If you haven't yet, we'd suggest you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

If this behavior persists after that, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the device on which you noticed this behavior along with the Spotify version you're running there.

Lastly, if possible, you can also send us a video recording of what's happening on your side. You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

Keep us in the loop!
