Solved!

android automotive app - artists names missing in playlists

After last update of my car SW (VOLVO V90) I can’t see names of artists in my playlists, just tracks names. It is annoying.

Hi @Pavel21,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop and for all additional details!

In this case, as this seems to happen after the update and only occurs when using the car app, we recommend getting in touch with Volvo directly, so that they can have a closer look. You can get in touch with them via this page.

The Community will be right here for you, should anything else appear.

Cheers!

Hi there @Pavel21,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

It'd be great if you can send us a screenshot or a screen recording of how it looks like on your end so that we can have a closer look. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.

Can you also confirm if this is happening with specific playlists? Are they your own or playlists you follow? It'd be great if you can try reinstalling the app on your Volvo to see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you

Hey @Pavel21,

Thanks for your reply.

We were not able to visualize the video you kindly sent us. Would you mind double-checking its permissions to make it public, so we can watch it on our side?

On another note, we'd like to gather some additional info:

  • Just to confirm, is it possible to connect a mobile device via AUX cable/Bluetooth to your Android Automotive app? If yes, would you mind doing it to check if you notice any difference?
  • Are you listening to music while connected to a car's built-in modem or are you connected to internet through Wi-Fi or your cellphone? It'd be awesome if you could change the internet connection you're using to see if you notice any changes.

Keep us in the loop!

I am sorry, could you open it now?

Hi again @Pavel21,

Thanks for getting back to us!

Was able to access the screenshot, thanks! Can you let us know the make and model of your mobile device? It'd be great if you can ask someone else with a different device to connect to the Android Automotive app to check if they're experiencing the same.

You can also check out this solution in a similar thread and test it out to see if it makes a difference.
