iOS vs Windows desktop ... wondering about a distinct difference. Is it purposeful?

iOS vs Windows desktop ... wondering about a distinct difference. Is it purposeful?

*this is using free account**

Why is it that that on iOS, there are frequent videos you can watch for 15-30 sec with will give you add free music, but limited skips of what you want to hear?

But on windows you can have unlimited skips, choose any audio queue you want, but will continually have audio/video commercials (at a deafening dB lvl)?

Seems odd that you watch video purposefully or not, and have option for ad free music on iphone. for a set period, but cannot choose what you want to listen to directly (even if it is a single album with 1 track spotify will find something it thinks is similar to it, like radio function)

But on desktop you have no control over video ads, but complete control over skips in music per hour, and can set a lengthy queue easily even across playlists.

Just seems strange that the functionality is so dramatically different. Makes it a hard call to use desktop app versus using bluetooth speakers from phone app , to listen. I am constantly changing from headphones at my desk at work from desktop to phone, as limitations of each get annoying, and I would think be easier if was the same across all platforms.

Is this intentional? Is this another way to annoy users into buying premium levels?
