random songs play when i choose the next icon from playlist

When I choose a playlist to listen to I hit play and the first song will play but when the track is over a random song comes up not on the playlist.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Spotify Community.

In general, if you're using the Free version of Spotify on your phone, and your playlist has less than 15 tracks in it, the app will automatically add new songs to the playlist so that its runtime increases and you don't get the same songs twice. This feature cannot be disabled, but if you add more than 15 songs, the additions from Spotify would disappear.

Premium users have access to Smart Shuffle, which automatically adds similar songs to your playlist as long as the feature is turned on. You can turn it off by tapping the Shuffle icon.

Something else that's worth checking out is if the Autoplay feature is toggled on in the app's Settings and toggle it off. Autoplay continues the playback with similar songs once your current music finishes playing. More info can be found here.

I have premium and have this problem on an iOS device. It’s unrelated to free profiles per se.

Since you mentioned you're experiencing the same, it's important to take into account what was mentioned here before and:

• We'd recommend you check if there's something in the queue to play next. It's possible you have some other playlist or songs in the queue ready to start playing. You first have to locate the queue by following the steps in this article. Then, you can hit the Clear queue button.
• As mentioned by @Anyk17, please consider that features such as Smart shuffle or Autoplay can add recommended songs to your playlists. Make sure those are disabled.

If this should persist after checking the above, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

• The make/model and OS of the affected device.
• A video recording of what you are seeing on your side. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.
• The exact Spotify version you're running there.
