script made my spotify and personal account bug

script made my spotify and personal account bug

I activated a script that supposedly was for something in particular that I don't remember because I was cleaning files and I opened it and activated it, after that cleaning I decided to listen to music on spotify, when I see that I can't play music, or access my playlists, on the left side where the playlists are, it's completely empty when I had more than 30 playlists there, my username was "kris", and when I opened spotify after that script, my name was a weird combination of numbers and letters. I already tried to solve it by deleting any file that has to do with spotify, I deleted it and reinstalled it multiple times but it didn't work, and every time I try to enter spotify from another

Hey @hitmonkeyschop,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to gather some additional info about the behavior you kindly mentioned. For starters, would you mind clarifying for us what you meant by "Script"? Is it an app that you can find on the affected device? It'll really help us if you give us more details.

On another note, we'd like to add some insights. It's important to keep in mind that your account has 2 names: your username and your display name.

We use your username to identify you on Spotify and it's often an alphanumeric code, which can't be changed. You don't need to remember it to log in. You can use your email and password. The display name, on the other hand, replaces the username that appears on your profile, app and playlists. You can change it as many times as you want. You can read all about it in this article.

Lastly, since you mentioned you noticed your library it's empty, It's possible you logged in into a different account. This can be the reason why you can't see any of the content you've saved. We suggest you check the details the account you logged in with these steps:

  1. Go to Home.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. At the top of settings, you can see the email linked to your account (if any).

If you aren’t certain about the details you used to register on the app, go to password reset and enter possible email addresses you own. When you enter an email that's registered with Spotify, you'll get a password reset message for that email.

Note: Keep in mind there are a few ways to sign up, e.g. with email, phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google. Try logging in with these, your account may be linked to one of these options as well.
