why does spotify on my phone only play mono audio when its not selected

i use spotify on my mac and on my phone but just recently I realized that songs dont sound the same on both. I checked to make sure that mono audio was off on my phone and it was but for some reason the it doesnt sound any differernt. For example, Space Oddity by David Bowie. When I listen on my mac I can clearly hear differnent audio coming from the left and right sides of my headphones, but when I listen on my phone it doesnt sound any different. Is this something I can fix or is this just the way life is?!??!?

Could you let us know if this happens only when you're listening through headphones? If so, we'd like to know if you can replicate this with a different pair of headphones.

On another note, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone to check if the same happens with the same headphones but a different account?

i have this problem too. i use three different Apple earpod jacks for my devices (Xbox, iPhone and Mac), the only one that has permanent mono audio is my iPhone. i’ve used AirPods and audiotechnica headphones as well and they do the same.

Ive just resolved this on my phone but going into the accessibility options.

There is an overriding feature to output audio in mono.
