Stop autoplay of podcasts on free version

I've been using Spotify to listen to free podcasts and you recently started autoplaying stuff I'm not subscribed to and NOT interested in. I can't find anyway to stop autoplay on the FREE version. I don't want suggested content.

Hey @kacrawford ,

You can do so via this path

Autoplay can be turned off from the app settings Go to Settings -> Playback -> Autoplay to do so.

Hope this helps

Hi there, as a follow on from this query, I thought autoplay was for podcasts I'm subscribed to? Recently I'm hearing random podcasts I have zero interest in autoplaying immediately after a pod I'm subscribed to. I don't want the suggested content but I like episodes of pods I'm subscribed to playing after one another as I work. Any thoughts on how I can opt out of hearing these random pods? Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out,

In this case, I request you go to "Home" and select "Podcasts & Shows" at the top. Find a podcast episode, tap the three dots menu, and select "Not interested".

Also, if you have specific feedback for customization, please don't hesitate. You can read more about the feedback through ideas reaches Spotify here.

Unfortunately this doesn't really work for me for some reason.

I tend to listen to podcasts as background noise when I sleep, but it drains my phone battery like **bleep** if it plays over night for 8 hours.

I've turned off autoplay in the settings but the problem is that it still automatically plays the next podcast even when I don't want it to.

Hey @Captain-Tee  Welcome to the Spotify Community

It looks like this can be fixed using the sleep timer. When you do not use a sleep timer, Spotify plays the next episode of the currently playing podcast or from your podcast recommendations, queue, and followed ones.

To avoid this, you can set the sleep timer to the end of the episode. In this way, it will stop playback once you reach the end of the episode. Your recommendations update constantly based on your listening history so they will change over time automatically.

I hope that helps.

Absolutely. Spotify constantly pushing Geoff Norcott on me. How much is he paying for this promotion? Always skips to his tedious rubbish as soon as a podcast comes to an end. Infuriating. Why can’t it move through podcasts I actually follow?
