My Question or Issue why am I getting ads on my premium family plan? I thought the whole point of paying for a premium plan was that there would be no ad interruptions.

Hey @Wheltonfam, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

 

Does this happen on one account or all accounts connected to your Premium Family plan? Also, where are you seeing these ads, can you send a screenshot so I can take a closer look?

 

Make sure that the members are actually connected to your Premium Family plan and that they have logged out > restart device > log back in.

My wife recently started getting ads on our premium family account in her car. She connects via apple play.

What do the ads look like? As @Billy-J has mentioned - a screenshot / photo would be of help in identifying what's going on here 🙂 

 

We'd also like to know when the ads in question appear and if this happens only in the vehicle and only via Car Play.

She does not get visual ads only Audio ads and they occur randomly between songs. I have not tracked the time between ads or the number of songs between ads. It only happens when she listens to Spotify in her car. She uses Apple play to connect wirelessly to her cars system. She drives a Hyundai Ioniq 6.

 

When I connect to the system with my phone, I get no ads.

Thanks for the reply!

Just to confirm, does she notice any difference after clearing stored cache from the device? Once it's done, she'll need to log out from the app and back in again twice in a row. Completing these steps will resync the account info.

Also, if possible, could she log in to her own Spotify account on another device to see if the same thing happens there?

 

It's also worth noting that some podcast episodes may include ads or sponsored messages, however, she shouldn't hear ad when listening to music while on Premium.

Hi, I have Family Premium account and I have been a member for many years. I listen to a lot of podcasts. I realized that Spotify is playing ads between my podcasts when one finished and I am waiting for the next one to play. Would you please explain it to me why are you playing ads when I am already a Premium member?
