Are playlists deleted from an account if it's removed from the family plan

Solved!

Are playlists deleted from an account if it's removed from the family plan

I'm currently a member of a Premium Family plan, but I want to strike out on my own with an Individual Premium subscription. If my account is removed from the family plan, I understand it reverts to a Free plan. Will the playlists associated with my account be deleted at that time before I can subscribe to Individual Premium? I can't imagine they would be (though I can't imagine playlists would work in a Free plan other than for this kind of scenario).

Hi @roachgf85,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

No worries, changing subscription plans won't cause you to lose any of your playlists or saved music.

You can leave a Premium Family plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to spotify.com/account
  2. Under Your plan, click Change Plan
  3. Select Cancel Premium under Spotify Free

When you leave the Premium Family plan, it's true that your account will revert to the free plan and that you can then subscribe to your own Premium Individual plan here.

With respect to how playlists work on the free plan, while there are some features that are exclusively for Premium (such as ad-free music, downloading music for offline listening, and picking and playing any track using the mobile app), note that being able to create, edit, and delete playlists isn't a Premium-only feature.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!
