Change Premium Family Manager

Change Premium Family Manager

I want to change the manager on my premium family account because:

1. I want them to pay for it.

2. They want to have the premium feature of listening to stories.

Hi @Alexcdv,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

Unfortunately, at the moment there isn’t a way to change the plan manager for a Premium Family plan once they've signed up. However, the current plan manager can cancel the plan, and then another member of your residence can start a new Premium Family plan as its plan manager.

No worries, changing subscription plans won't cause anyone to lose anyone to lose any of their playlists, saved music, or settings.

The current plan manager can first cancel the existing Premium Family plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your account page
  2. Under Manage your plan, click Change Plan
  3. Scroll to Cancel Spotify and click Cancel Premium

At your next billing date (which the plan manager can view on their account page), the accounts of each member of the current Premium Family plan will switch to the free service. At that time, the new plan manager can sign up for the new Premium Family plan hereand then they can invite the other members of your residence by following these steps.

Bear in mind that to accept the invites, members must live at the same address as the plan manager. Note as well that members can only switch between different Premium Family or Duo plans once in 12 months.

You can also read more about how Premium Family works in this support article as well as in this FAQ article.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have a good day!

This should be easier. I’m sure we are not the only family that wants others to be able to enjoy the audiobooks that the family plan manager never uses.
