Change subscription from single premium to family

Change subscription from single premium to family

Hi

2 months ago I did prepaid for yearly premium subscription (single user). Can I switch to Family and add some members and pay only a difference between one and another type of subscriptions?

You can only change to another subscription once the current one expires.

Isn't that only if they're subscribed through a provider other than Spotify? I remember when I started a family account I just upgraded, didn't need to cancel anything.

 

I'm in the same position as the OP. Paid for 12 months, and now want to upgrade to Family. If we do, for some weird reason, need to cancel our sub first, do they offer refunds on the months you didn't get to use? It makes way more sense to just pay the difference owed...

Hey OP,

I contacted Spotify Support regarding this, and they informed me that on their end your account is more like a wallet. You've topped up a year's worth of subscription costs and they just deduct the correct amount every month behind the scenes. So if you upgrade your account to a Family account, they'll just take extra out to cover the difference, and all you'll see is that your 'yearly' subscription runs out a few months earlier due to the extra costs incurred. Happy days!
