Change the Family Plan manager

Change the Family Plan manager

Hi Spotify Community!

My wife is paying the Family plan for me and my daughter however she lost access to her own email (that actually manages her Spotify Family plan also)! And now she does not have access to Spotify for herself :))

So the issue is; Since we don't have access to her Spotify account as access to her Spotify account is correlated with her email in which she does not have access to anymore, and now she cannot authenticate in any way as Spotify is asking to log in that particular email address!!
And now the question is:

  • How can we stop the payments and switch from her account/email to any of my emails so I can continue the payments and manage our Family plan so I can add her to our Family plan also?

Plan

Premium Family

Country

Kosovo

Thank You,

A. LETI

Hi there @LetiAstrit,

Thanks for reaching out. Not to worry, we'll gladly help you regain access to the account and keep enjoying your Premium.

There currently isn't a direct way to switch a plan manager from account to another and the intended way to do so is to cancel the old plan, wait for all the accounts to revert to free and the subscribe again from the desired manager account. In other words, your wife needs to be able to get back into the account regardless if you want her to keep managing it or have you take over. But no worries, that's what we're here for.

First of all, she can try logging in with any alternative login methods, if any are present. If this works, she can open the account page and update the email address to an active one to regain access to the account.

If this isn't possible, then she can reach out to our support team and they will gladly assist her further. If possible, she should do this herself as it's always best when the owner of an affected account is reaching out personally. Don't worry, there are several ways to contact the team where logging into your account isn't required. When reaching out, she should make sure to have all payment info on hand, as those will be necessary for search and verification.

Hope this helps.
