I would like to comment on the process of updating an address once someone has created a Spotify account and upgraded to premium, along with how it works to add someone to your family plan.

It’s absolutely one of the most annoying, though easy things to do.
- you can only accomplish anything by speaking to customer service.
- if you do not remember your original address, you cannot add people to your family plan, and must create a completely NEW PLAN (WOW)
- No I do not need the student account because I am no longer a full time student
- YOU MUST CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT
- Nanette was great and was able to transfer all of my playlists along with creating a new account. Yes, it’s easy to do but I was on a chat for longer than I would like to; specially at the end of the work day
- Are they denied or is your algorithm so amazing that it will allow them to keep their accounts together?
- how am I supposed to remember an address if I moved 4 times in the last 3 years for work or school?
- then, customer service is not allowed to give you the information and then adjust your account.
- What do you do when college students create family accounts with people in the same household that aren’t related?
- Spotify makes the excuse of it being a personal system and those in the same household can only be on an account. **WORST EXCUSE FOR MAKING MORE MONEY I HAVE EVER HEARD**
- Could your legal department really not think of any other parameters?
At the end of the conversation, I was able to fix the account (I created a new one with the help of Nanette) and I am now back in business with a NEW USERNAME
Things I learned
- not to use your Facebook credentials but you can link and unlink Spotify with Facebook when you've already created an account.
- If you have a Facebook-created account and would like to unlink Facebook in the future, you'll need to create a new account. However, if that's a Spotify created, you can simply link and unlink Facebook anytime you want to.
- Spotify can transfer all of your playlists to a new account, ONLY IF YOU CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE
- You can never see your address again once you create a family plan
I apologize for wasting anyone's time but all it takes is people speaking common sense so things could be taken a look at. Hope you got a good laugh and enjoy your evening.
