Joining New Family Plan

Joining New Family Plan

Hi! Just last night I was removed off a Spotify family plan I joined around April 2021. For personal reasons, I cant join it back and am looking for a new plan. Fortunately my friend had a spot in her family plan and upon accepting the invite via the link (I tried doing it in an incognito browser too), the browser page notified me “you cant join this plan: you can join someone else’s premium plan only once every 12 months”. I’m very frustrated, since it seems I can’t do anything to resolve this issue, but can someone confirm that this 12 month rule exists? And is there any way I can bypass it? If not, I’ll just be forced to create a new account and TRY to transfer my music collection, which seems like a lot of extra effort for something as simple as joining a new Spotify plan.

Hey @madisonhuynh,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community!

We can confirm that such rule exists, and that member-accounts can change between Family plans only once a year. You can read more about this here as well. As for any possible actions on your account that would concern personal information, we'd suggest that is best to address our Support team, as they're the right folks to cater for such requests. You can reach them via the channels mentioned here.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
