Moving to a different country and switch to Family plan

Moving to a different country and switch to Family plan

So I've just this week moved to the UK, previously I was in the US on a solo premium account, but now that I'm here I'm trying to join a family account with my fiance. However spotify won't let me change my region/country at all no matter what I try, and I can't join the UK family plan until my account has the updated address which I can't update since I can't change my country. Any solutions or advice?

Hey @medigos-galore,

Thanks for reaching out.

To join a Premium Family plan in your new country, you’ll first need to make sure your account's country setting matches your new location. Here's how you can do it:

  • If you're still on Premium, you can update your payment method to one issued in your new country. The country setting will update automatically on your next billing date, once the changes take effect.

  • Alternatively, you can cancel your current subscription and wait for it to end. Once your account reverts to Free, you can manually update your country setting via the dropdown menu in your account settings. You'll find step-by-step instructions here.

Once your country setting is updated, you'll be good to go to join the Premium Family plan in your new location.

Hope this helps 🙂
