Plan
Premium Family
Situation
So I recently created a new paypal account, and my Spotify Premium Family subscription ran out. No problem, i started a new one, posted the link in the family group, all good.
But shortly after I realized that I used the wrong account for myself, so I cancelled the subscription, renewed the old one and posted a second link.
Problem is, those that were fast enough already joined the other family (that only existed for like 15 minutes) and now cant join the new one - The ones they were in for years already.
Question
Is there a way to reset or clear this 12 month family-lock so they can join the family again?

Hey @Dreadcrumb,
Thanks for coming to the Community.
Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made regarding this policy. Your family either needs to wait 12 months or you can cancel the plan on your main account and renew it on the wrong account.
Here's some info on how to transfer playlists, saved music, etc. to a new account: https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/I-created-a-new-account-Can-I-transfer-my-playlists-saved-musi....
Hope this clears things up 🙂

Yeah so I had a nice little chat with support, Maxim is right. Either the premium account holder switches to the wrong account or the affected family members create new accounts and join with those. Then you or they can write support tickets to transfer the playlists and saved music to the new accounts.
My roommates and I shared a family plan. I let it expire since we had moved out, and it put me on a free plan. My husband and I purchased a Duo Premium plan.
We live in the same house.
We have the same address on our accounts.
He sent me the invite link.
However, when I click on the link, it says "You can’t join this plan: We couldn’t confirm that you live with the plan manager for this Premium plan. You can join someone else’s plan again in 12 months."
What? I am not sure what else I can do other than have the same address, but we have already paid for this and now it is saying that I can join our plan in one year. I don't want to pay for this Duo plan if only one of us can use it.
Plan
Family --> Free --> unable to join Duo, which I have already paid for.

This 12 month rule is just a nightmare for a lot of paying members who are not doing illegal activities. I love Spotify but for this you should feel ashamed and act beyond blaming the process. Especially since asa user I can not even find out when the banning period started or ends 🤨
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
