Residing in a Different Country from Billing Address

Residing in a Different Country from Billing Address

We reside in the middle east as a family, but our permanent address and credit card billing address is in the USA.  We are trying to set up a Premium Family Account, but I had to choose USA as location to match my credit card.  Then when I tried to invite my kids, spotify blocked them because of the location registered on their phones.  How do we set up a premium family account given this situation?

Keep in mind the payment method you're using on Spotify should be matching the country you're currently residing in. If you move to another country, you need to update your payment method to one that's issued in the new country:

 

  1. Log in to your account page
  2. Under Your plan, click UPDATE next to your payment method. 
  3. Enter a new payment method that was issued in your new country. 

 

The changes will take effect from your next billing date. Once the payment method has been updated, you can try sending invites to your children again following the steps here.

Thank you for your response.  As we are not citizens of the country we reside, it is very difficult to open a local bank account and obtain credit cards here.  We will need another option using our only credit card issues from our home and permanent residence.

This is terrible help. I have the same issue. How can I just show that we live in the same home together but not our home country of the USA. We cannot change the billing country but we do live in a different country. What is the work around to fix this?

 

according to the Spotify website this is not necessary if we have Premium.  We can have a different billing address from the country we reside in....however, clearly it does not work.

Je rencontre un problème pour ajouter un membre de ma famille à mon abonnement Spotify Famille. Lorsqu’il tente d’accepter l’invitation, un message indique que nos adresses ne correspondent pas, alors que nous vivons bien à la même adresse.

Nous avons vérifié que l’adresse est correctement renseignée et avons essayé différentes solutions (connexion au même Wi-Fi, déconnexion/reconnexion, tentative via un navigateur), mais le problème persiste. Le payement est réalisé avec une carte bancaire différente au pays de résident. Est ce cela le problème ?

Pouvez-vous nous aider à résoudre ce souci ?
