Spotify and iTunes Library on iPhone

Spotify and iTunes Library on iPhone

Hello everybody,
I'm a new Premium Family Member and I'm having some troubles to configure Spotifyi on Imac and iPhone about my old iTunes Library.
iTunes runs on my old iMac (2009) El Capitan 10.11.6 and I can see and play all the audio files contained in the Library.
On the iMac in Spotify > Your Lybrary > Local Files > i can see and play all the songs from iTunes.
On the iPhone I've actived in Settings > Local Files, BUT the playlist is EMPTY.
A strange issue occurs: when I play a song from the iMac (not a song from iTunes) i can see on the iPhone its cover, the progressing time bar and the pause and play buttons (and they work perfectly).
Afterwards, in the case i play a  contained in iTunes song, on the i Phone i see the cover and the time bar of the previous song (not the playng one), but pause and play buttons work perfectly!.
1 - How can I solve this problem?
2 - Could it be possible to store the library on iCloud and play from iPhone
I would like to have the iTunes songs on my phone.
Thanks a lot for your help

Hey @mariopompei,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

Let us explain a bit more of what is happening here. You're able to see control buttons, cover, etc. of the regular song on your iPhone when you play it from PC because your Spotify account is synched on both devices.  On another note, when it comes to local files (like your iTunes library), the synchronization between files from PC and your mobile devices over the network is not available. That's why when you play a song from iTunes you're seeing buttons, cover, etc. of the previous song and not the one that you're playing.

To answer your second question - yes, it is possible to play your iTunes library from your iPhone. The audio files, that you want to play within the app, need to be physically present on your iPhone's storage in order to be played by Spotify. You have to upload them following the steps in this article.

Hope this clear things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

Cheers!
